Work From Home Moms, How to Make Money!

Written By Father of Three on Thursday, February 28, 2008 | 9:15 PM

Many single work from home moms simply do not have enough money. They work as hard as they can in their jobs, but it is just not enough to pay the bills. If you are in this situation, then you already know that getting a second job is simply not an option. Your kids only have one parent in the picture, and they need you to be around. One option to help you make ends meet is to find a way to make money from your home.

Finding a way to earn money at home requires some creativity. You will need to find something that you can do while still giving your children the attention they need. One option is to offer your home as a place where your friends can bring their children for babysitting. Even if it is just a couple of nights a week or on the weekends, you can make some decent money watching other people’s kids. Since you will be babysitting, interacting with the kids is required, and this means you will have time to spend with your own kids as well.

As long as there are no allergies in your home, pet sitting can be another way for you to bring in some extra money. When your friends take a vacation, they can bring their pets to your home to be cared for. Or, better yet, you can go to their home and care for their pets while they are gone.

Can you write? Many people find that working as a freelance writer is a good way to earn some side cash. While many part time freelance jobs don’t pay a ton, they can help you make ends meet when you don’t have enough to pay your bills. Writing is not the only type of freelance work available, either. If you can design a website, you can earn money as a freelance web designer. Graphic artists can also earn money on the side creating images for others. Photography and videography are also in high demand online.

As you look for something you can do from home, avoid any programs that claim that you can earn thousands of dollars for just a few hours of work each month. Working from home, especially part time, is going to require some extra effort and motivation, and it is not going to bring in the big bucks in most situations. It can, however, give you the money you need to pay that one last bill that you just can’t squeeze out of your paycheck.

Opportunity to Stay Home be a Virtual Assistance

Single Moms Opportunity to Stay Home with Their Kids

Many single mothers need to work in order to provide for their families, but virtual assistance helps provide one with the ability to work at home and stay with her child.

In November 2007 just before her new son was born, Tia Peterson, soon to be a new single mother, made the decision that she would stay home to raise her son. She began freelancing as a virtual assistant and has never looked back. Instead, she has moved on to form a virtual assistance firm called All American Admin http://www.allamericanadmin.com as a means of providing income while saving on daycare expenses.

“Virtual assistance can provide single mothers the opportunity to take control of their careers and income while saving money on daycare expenses,” explained Tia, mother of nearly 6-month old baby boy, Aidan. “It seems that most stay at home moms are part of two-income families. It’s an option that a lot of single mothers don’t think they have.”

Tia notes that she can save over $200 per week by keeping Aidan out of full-time daycare while she works from home – the nearest daycare center charges $213 per week for full-time infant care.

In her virtual assistance practice, Tia manages multiple clients and a small team of other virtual assistants as well. While she has not completely replaced her previous annual salary as a lead business analyst in the software development industry, she earns enough to provide for herself and her son and still have money in the bank at the end of the month.

“My ultimate goal has always been to not only make this work for myself, but to create an avenue of income for other mothers in a similar situation. All you need is a computer, internet connection, and the skills you’ve accumulated over the years working out of the home.”

The virtual assistance industry is dominated by married people – over 75% (source: 2006-2007 Virtual Assistant Industry Survey as conducted by the Virtual Assistant Chamber of Commerce), but the flexibility of virtual assistance can also provide single mothers with income and free time.

Tia is planning to continue to grow All American Admin into a thriving virtual assistance firm while at the same time seeking out, training, and inspiring other single mothers who wish to stay home with their kids in the business of virtual assistance.

For additional information, contact Tia Peterson or visit her company website at www.allamericanadmin.com.

About All American Admin:
All American Admin is a virtual assistant services provider based in Erie, Pennsylvania. The company specializes in internet marketing assistance, website and blog maintenance and is launching a new social media management service.

Build Wealth Earning Just $5.00 Per Day

Written By Father of Three on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 | 12:18 PM

One of the scariest things that I have ever done was back in 1996 when I left my full time job to go back to school. in my early thirties at the time, I always had this dream of working from home but had no idea how to get started. So, the first thing I did was enroll in some computer courses and took out a student loan and purchased my first computer. What was supposed to be "an introduction to computers" course left me feeling so intimidated that I almost quit. However I knew that If I was ever going to learn to build a successful business at home I needed to get online and learn all I could.

Fast forward 11 years later and through trial and error I have gone from being totally computer illiterate to following my dream of being a work at home mom (WAHM). I may not be the internet marketing guru bringing in tens of thousands each month but as a stay at home mom who wanted to supplement our family income I am happy. However, there are times when I have lost focus and didn't accomplish the things that I needed to do. I had so many projects lined up at once that I didn't know how to prioritize or would get so overwhelmed that I would just procrastinate. Days like that made me crave the stability of a weekly paycheck even if it meant having to go back out and join the rat race.

Many people think that you have a lot of free time on your hands. That's because when you work outside the home you have no choice but to be focused on the task at hand. You go to work, put in your 8 hour work days and come home to tend to the needs of your family. Is it exhausting? Yes but you know that you have to put in your time or you don't get paid. However, when you work from home it is so easy to get side tracked and put things off until tomorrow. You may try to focus but can't help but think about the dirty dishes in the sink. Or, maybe you have small children to take care of and feel guilty that you are not spending enough time with them. Then you have family and friends who ask for favors or drop by unexpectedly because they assume you have nothing better to do. No matter what the reason is, it is easy to get side tracked.

I always look for interesting e-books and other online courses to help me increase my earning potential. I hate to think of how much money I have wasted over the years for over-priced e-courses and training videos promising to show me how to make a fortune working at home!). That's why I was thrilled to come across Dennis Becker's e-book that focuses on multiple streams of income each bringing in just $5.00 per day. Just do the math and you can see how lucrative this could be.

This is not a get rich quick program. In fact if you are looking for big riches overnight than this is not for you (and good luck finding it). However, if you are looking for some practical tips to get you started in the right direction as well as some great ideas then I would recommend it! It is well written by a successful internet marketer who uses these strategies himself.

Whether you are an experienced marketer or just getting started, these strategies are ideal for anyone. You will also find that his strategies will work for your current online projects as well as give you some great ideas for new ones. Just imagine having multiple streams of income each bringing in just $5.00 per day! And what's the best part? You can purchase this course for about half the price of a pizza!

Whether you want to earn money through direct sales, affiliate marketing, building niche sites, even off-line it doesn't matter. This is definitely a must read e-book for anyone who truly wants to work from home. Once you start reading it you wont want to put it down so be sure to print it out, find a comfortable chair and wait for that ah ha! moment to kick in for you. You will also find yourself going back to it from time to time.

SocialSpark

I Signed Up For Social Spark !

SocialSpark is the name I am listening from many days each and every where. It is one of the blog advertising platforms launched recently. It is an izea company. You might have known about the social spark. I have joined social spark and added my blogs to their network and got approved.

If the blogs get approved then I can take review opportunities from the market place directly. They are many opportunities in the market place. Each have different price, which are very high which I could not find at any other blog advertising platform. But this social spark has been launched for the benefit of advertisers mainly. Now advertisers can see detail stats about blogger blogs like daily visitors, hits, google page rank, alexa rank etc. They can even see the personal profile of the bloggers. They can see the traffic trend of the bloggers blog. So this makes them easy to offer review for a particular blog which can save them lot of money. The advertiser can post comments on bloggers profile and send messages to them.

And when it comes to blogger they have to work hard to retain their position in the SocialSpark. This type of new blog advertising platform benefits bloggers as well as advertisers. The social spark rules are very strict when compared to other sponsorships. Here bloggers have many benefits. Here bloggers can review each other blogs by which they can build buzz, traffic for free. Just like payperpost social spark has kept real rank for bloggers. Most of the bloggers in social spark don’t have best real rank.

Save Money from Pesticides

Written By Father of Three on Monday, August 20, 2007 | 7:42 AM

Stop buying insecticides

After all the hard work, time and attention you put into you rose gardens, the last thing you want is to loose them due to fungus and disease.

Proper planting, feeding, watering and sunlight are not enough. In order to keep your roses healthy, you must treat them properly to avoid getting diseases and infestations of mite and insects.

Disease control is an important part of maintaining beautiful and healthy roses. You will have to contend with black spot and powdery mildew on their roses almost every year.

Regular fungicide applications are needed to control both of these

diseases. These treatments should also control Botrytis blight and other foliage diseases. You will also have to contend with mites and insects. Regular treatments of a pesticide are needed when mites and insects are present.

Spray weekly with a fungicide to control powdery mildew and black spot. To rid
your roses of insects, use a systemic rose care product. When spraying for
insects and disease, be sure to coat the undersides of the leaves, since
many if the diseases and insects that infest roses live there.
To ensure full coverage, spray until the solution drips off the leaves. Six hours of sun a day helps your roses stay healthy.

Morning sun is best because it dries the dew off the leaves, helping to
prevent fungus diseases.Unfortunately, the sun does not help when it comes to mites and insects.

When spraying your plants, thorough coverage is important in controlling rose pests. Apply pesticides only according to label directions and only when pests are present.

Remember to use caution when using pesticides. Do not inhale or spray on skin or in eyes. You best bet is to wear rubber gloves when applying any pesticide.

Proper pest identification is necessary to know which chemical to apply as well as the proper application time. Specific pesticides are suggested for each pest. The pesticides are listed by the common chemical name found in the active ingredient area of the product label.

Look for the appropriate active ingredient on the label and verify that the product can be used on roses. Some pesticide products are ready to use, while others require preparation. Also, some pesticides are harder to find and may require more effort to locate.

Always read and comply with the pesticide label.

I used to be an office and motel cleaner earning minimum wage on a contract by contract basis, working very hard to make ends meet. I have no pedigree, I am a high school dropout from a broken family. I was forced to stay at home after my baby was born, this was like a visit from an angel... I had to find a way of earn a living without leaving home. This was a life turning event... Today I enjoy an extraordinary life, earning in excess of $80,000 a month which allows me to endulge on those things I never thought It was possible before - including having my dream home. I was fortunate enough to find the right business to earn a substantial monthly income from the comfort of my own home.

Investing Tips for Beginners

Written By Father of Three on Friday, July 27, 2007 | 11:26 AM

Here are some investing tips for beginners:

1. Invest in what you know.
Choose investments that you know and understand.

Forms of investments:

  • Savings accounts - Probably the safest type of investment. There is low risk involve and the yield is also low. If you availed of it through a bank, your investment is insured by the PDIC upto P250,000.
  • Time deposits - Similar to savings accounts with the exception of you agreeing not to touch your money for a certain period of time. With this, the bank will offer you a higher yield compared to regular savings account.
  • Bonds - Bonds are IOUs from the government or corporations. Initial investments in bonds and risks are higher compared to bank deposits. But the yield potential is also much higher. It may be preferable to invest in Mutual funds or UITFs (pooled resources) which offer lower initial investments.
  • Stocks or Equities - Stocks are traded in the stock market and prices fluctuate everyday. There are mutual funds and UITFs investing in stocks and equities.
  • Money market - Money market refers to short term commercial papers maturing in 1 year or less. There are mutual funds and UITFs with portfolios made up of money market only.
  • Real Estate
  • Art and Jewelry

    2. Don't follow the herd.
Before following what the others are doing, think and assess first the situation. Don't panic. Sometimes panicking can force you to sell at a loss.

    3. Focus on the business, not the stock.
If you invest on the stock market, focus on the business and not on the stock prices. Know the business behind the stock, assess its future and see if it will be profitable. As the stock market prices fluctuate everyday, looking at the prices everyday may cause you to lose your mind.

    4. Think long term.
When investing in stocks, mutual funds, and UITFs, think long term. Be prepared to just leave your money and let it compound. Learn to sit back and relax. Investing long term allows your investments to average out over that period. Averages have the tendency to rise over the years so you need not worry when the market is down because it will tend to average itself in the long run.

    Buy Your Own Domain

Written By Father of Three on Monday, June 25, 2007 | 1:17 AM

    Domain Parking

Today blogging has become major activity online. Many people are using blogging as their main source of income online. Some do blogging for fun and some do for making money online. But having your own domain will give you more chances to make money online.Getting your own domain is easy and cheap today. One can easily get one year hosting at just $50 with many benefits.

I don't have individual own blog so that is why i get review orders at very low rate.Suppose if i have my own individual blog then i use to get review orders at higher price.I did not receive review orders more than $40 price.I got that price when my blog have four page rank and 4,00,000 alexa rank.Advertisers give more preference to individual blogs than blogs that are hosted free.If you are serious at blogging then you should definitely get your own blog.

And one more thing don't ever blog for making money.Just blog for providing some info, suggestion or your opinion on product.if you do this things then the money will automatically flow in.Many bloggers follow this thing that is why they are successful at blogging.

Are Domain Names Still A Money Maker?

Written By Father of Three on Saturday, March 24, 2007 | 9:28 AM

This article is guest posted by Christopher Johnson.

The short answer is yes. The long answer is a bit more complicated. Used to be, you could just register any old name and someone would come along and buy it from you for ridiculous amounts of money, especially if you were squatting on a copy written domain name. But that was before. Now they have laws that protect intellectual property from being used like that, and many of the good names have been taken. So what to do? Here are some useful ideas and tips on how to monetize your domain portfolio:

    1. First thing’s first.

Choose your domain name. This should be done by researching a niche market, and finding a name that is either still available, or about to expire, be careful to check that the name isn’t copy written first. i say niche market, and many of you are probably going, “why not just get a variation on the most popular searches out there?” Because, those markets are hard to break into. I own four domain names, one for jobs in California, one for couture style clothing (hey don’t laugh, it’s just business), one about beer, and one that is an adult domain name. The one for California jobs has received the most hits, the couture one next, followed by the one about beer, and the adult domain was a DISTANT last, as the market for that is literally flooded with domain names. Pick a niche you know people have interest in.

    2. Find out, within that niche, what people are searching for.

You want your domain to be immediately associated with that search, so use Google Trends to find out what key words and what synonyms of key words people are actually typing in, then use the most popular. In this instance, past the domain name category, with key words more popular is better. This will ensure that your site comes up more often in the searches performed most often by your target market.

    3. Pick a good registrar.

My money so far has been on GoDaddy, not just for the prices ( and a simple Google search for “GoDaddy discount codes” will get you money off), but also because their back office is really clean and easy to use.

    4. Be open to sales.

Sell the domain name when the price is right, but be patient also. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your fortune. Some may even be complete duds, so be sure to ask some friends if they think it would be a name they would buy before you purchase it.

    5. Don’t just sit there, do something. Great, you bought it.

You are now the proud owner of a domain name that doesn’t go anywhere and no one knows about. Park the domain. Parking is when you set your domain name’s name servers to a different site like my favorite Name Drive. They have really nice templates that look like actual sites and a decent payout rate. If not Name Drive, check out Sedo. There is also They then populate the template with adds and people click on them. That is they will once you promote the domain names. For my money, you can’t beat free, so check out Web CEO. This tool submits your contact info, as well as your URL to tons of search engines in one shot, and helps you optimize your other sites, too.

    6. Lastly, be patient.

This may take a while and you may need to buy a bunch of domain names before you hit on some winners. In this business, the greatest tools in your toolbox will be creativity and patience.
